‘Tales of Alethrion’ is a 2D non-dialogue fantasy web series and a transmedia universe. The project is funded through Kickstarter and has a legendary YouTube channel followed by more than 175K subscribers.
The ‘Tales of Alethrion’ universe consists so far of 9 main episodes and 14 interactive minisodes, along with comics, computer games, board games, figurines, artwork books, and several albums on Spotify!
In a world shaped by myths and magic, we follow a group of unlikely heroes whose destinies are all tied to the same mysterious treasure map. The first hero, Alethrion, sets off on an epic adventure to protect the world from dangerous creatures and to fill his treasure chest with unlimited riches. Years later, new heroes are drawn to his old treasure chest, unaware of the dark power it holds. When the chest is opened, a demon is unleashed – and now it’s up to the new heroes to find a way to stop it before it’s too late.
‘Tales of Alethrion’ is created by Mikkel Mainz who is also the co-founder and CEO of the Copenhagen-based production company, Skjaldborn. We work by the motto: “Never settle for anything less than an adventure”, and it’s our mission to give our audiences captivating experiences through high-quality, unconventional and exciting storytelling within the amazing world of 2D animation. We recently completed season 1 of the TV-series ‘Høj’ for DR and contributed to projects such as ‘Monster Loving Maniacs’ and ‘Børste’, while continuously releasing new episodes of ‘Tales of Alethrion’.
